Shabbat activities

On Shabbat, we typically have the following going on:

From 10:10am
Before the service. Our men and boys go to prayers in the side room in preparation for the service, and our ladies and girls dance the Davidic pre-service dance, setting the stage for worship.
10:30am
Shabbat service. Our weekly Shabbat morning service in the main hall: worship in English and Hebrew, the weekly Torah portion, teaching from the Scriptures, and prayer.
About 12:15pm
Oneg. The service finishes around 12:15 to 12:30pm and we share a community oneg, a meal together: tea, coffee, something sweet, and often a full meal.
Until 3pm
Bible discussion. After the oneg, we return for Bible discussion on the Torah portion of the day.

Common questions

Do I need to be Jewish to come?
Not at all. Our kehilah is a mix of Jewish and non-Jewish believers, plus plenty of curious visitors. Everyone is welcome at everything we do.
Is this a church or a synagogue?
A bit of both, honestly. We follow Yeshua (Jesus) as Messiah, and we worship in a Jewish rhythm — Shabbat, the Torah portions, the feasts. Think of it as the earliest form of the faith.
Will I be asked to do anything?
No. You won’t be singled out. You can sit, listen, sing if you like, and leave when you want. Nobody will ask you to stand up, give anything, or explain yourself.
What about my kids?
Kids are welcome and included. Noise is normal — families are part of the kehilah.
How long does it go?
The service runs from 10:30am until about 12:15 to 12:30pm. Then we share a meal together (the oneg), and anyone who’d like to stays on for Bible discussion until 3pm. Stay for as much or as little as you like.
Should I bring food?
Bring something if you want, but you don’t have to.
